Bali
Typical tropical tourist town. Rented a car and saw the countryside, which was great. Saw locals drying rice, on blankets, in the street. Local chickens would pick at the rice.

Taipei
Taipei was awesome. It was like a blend between Japan and Thailand.
Wondered into a back alley swap meet that was clearly all stolen goods.
The kid who could not believe what he was seeing - when he looked at me.

Seoul
Mingles - crazy good kimchi and rice. The most delicious little salad.
Top tip - if a 50's best restaurant asks you if you want more to eat, always say yes. Always.

Kyoto
Old-timey Japanese town. Tourists dress up in traditional garb and walk around. They have old school pull carts. Bamboo forest was cool. We found cool bamboo models that are like a 3d puzzle of sorts. It's worth a day trip.

Osaka
Stopped for these doughnuts. They are like a traditional doughnut, with a hole in the center. Then they fill that hole with custard and then creme brulee the custard. It creates this nice caramelized top to an outrageous doughnut.
The guy…

Tokyo
The subway systems are fantastic but not all that intuitive. There are different providers as opposed to a unified system we are used to. In other words, you can't always transfer from one line to another. You pick your destination and buy a…

Bangkok
Nissan RHD. The best Pad Thai ever (vegetable Pad Thia with pineapple, under the bridge). The oddball ice cream date place. The lovely riverfront. I loved it all.

Krabi
The most remote place we have ever stayed. I gave all my clothes, except one shirt and my swimming suit, to a local lady. She took my clothes to her house, washed, dried and folded them. While we waited, we secured a scooter, because nothing…

Singapore
The desire for order here is unreal. You must wait in line for everything. A special officer organizes the cab pickup at the airport and from there is only becomes more organized and particular. Catching a cab is all but impossible. The national…

Saigon
I loved it there. The complete sense of freedom. Fantastic food is eaten on the side of the street, seated on plastic chairs. I want to move to Saigon ... so bad!

tt. Long Thành
We visit Annie's hometown! I loved every minute of it.
